
Chef Competition & Tablescaping Registration rules:
The competition theme for 2025 is:
"From Taverna to Table: Greek flavors reimagined”
This year, the EMMYS Yacht Show's chef competition invites culinary artists to draw inspiration from traditional Greek cuisine and elevate it into a refined dining experience. The challenge is to take beloved Greek dishes and transform them with modern techniques, sophisticated plating, and innovative flavor combinations while preserving their authentic essence.
TERMS:

Each competing chef must create and present a two-course meal, consisting of:
A) Either an Appetizer or a Main Course
and
B) A Dessert
Competition Day:

You will receive notification just prior to the judge's arrival, along with an approximate time schedule during the chef’s briefing (on the 28th of April, between 19:00- 19:30 at Syngrou Building)

You are required to provide four printed menus on paper A5 (half A4): one for the photographer and three for the judges.

You will have 30 minutes to serve your two-course meal (appetizer or main course and dessert) to the panel of three judges.

For each course, please prepare four dishes, three for the judges plus one for photography purposes.
Judging Criteria for the Chef Competition:
Chefs will be evaluated based on a points system, following the criteria outlined below:
- Appearance and presentation: visually appealing
- Taste: flavor, seasoning, and balanced flavors
- Creativity: innovative use of the competition theme
- Overall appeal: originality and creativity
The Jury will vote on the basis of the aforementioned four criteria each course (Appetizer or Main-Course, Desert)
Each of the four criteria above are evaluated out of a total of 10 (1 to 10 points, from each judge).
If the judge wishes to distinguish a course and it has already obtained 40 points in total (10 points for each criterion); he has the option to add a star (in the note box of the voting form), which will be equivalent to 5 points.
270 points is the maximum score a chef can achieve.

Please note that we can only accommodate twelve (12) yachts in each yacht category. In the event that we receive more than twelve (12) entries, a draw will be conducted, and the final entries will be announced one week prior to the show.
Two Categories:
The annual Chefs' Competition of the EMMYS Yacht Show will take place as follows:
The competition is divided into two categories on the basis of the daily charter rate of the yacht.

“EMERALD” for yachts with a daily charter rate in high season up to 4.999 euros / day:
Wednesday, 30/04/2025 ,10:00-18:30, for yachts with a daily charter rate in high season up to 4.999 euros / day.
2. “DIAMOND” for yachts with a daily charter rate in high season of 5.000 euro / day and above:
Thursday 01/05/2025,10:00-18:30, for yachts with a daily charter rate in high season of 5.000 euro / day and above.

Any number of the crew are invited to take part in the “Best Tablescaping” competition. Entries will only be accepted if the yacht’s Chef has entered the Chefs’ Competition.

All entries must be registered by 09:00 AM on Thursday, April 10th, 2025. If registrations exceed 12 per category, a draw will be held to determine the final participants. Any chef is welcome to attend the draw.

The jury will be composed of 3 (three) judges.

Join us on board for an unforgettable evening of themed charm, exquisite dining, and friendly competition amidst the breathtaking backdrop of the open sea. Let your decor skills shine bright and make your mark in the world of yacht table scaping!

Best Tablescaping will be evaluated out of a total of 5 (1 to 5 points, from each judge).
Judges can give the distinction of a star equivalent to 5 points if the contestant has already obtained 15 points in total.
30 is the maximum score for this prize.
Terms & Conditions:
Participation is only allowed for chefs who are permanently employed on the yacht that is attending the EMMYS Yacht Show 2025. Participation by chefs who are only temporarily employed for the duration of the show is not allowed.
The two-course meal will be prepared by the contestant in the yacht’s galley.
The jury is appointed by the Organizing Committee of the EMMYS Yacht Show, which reserves the right to alter the members of the jury.
The results will be announced on Friday, May 2nd. The venue details will be posted at https://www.emmys.gr/schedule .
Winners will be presented with commemorative awards.
The names of the winners and yachts will be featured on the official website of the exhibition and in the Greek and Foreign media.
The organizing committee reserves the right to change the terms of the competition.
